Bigg Boss 5 is like a second innings for me: Juhi Parmar

Actress Juhi Parmar, who won the 5th season of controversial reality show Bigg Boss, says it is the start of her 2nd innings on television as her weight had kept her away from work. The Kumkum star says that she wanted to start working after reducing weight and getting into proper shape.

After winning the show Bigg Boss 5, Juhi Parmar told PTI, "It is like a second innings for me. I wanted to start working but only after reducing weight and getting into proper shape. I was away from work for a year or so. My weight was a big hindrance in my career which I gained due to medical reasons. But no excuses are accepted in the industry. For me the struggle was to lose weight, my target was that."

Juhi Parmar, who shot to fame on the daily soap Kumkum, says that she had not expected to win Bigg Boss 5. "Bigg Boss came my way so I took it up. I thought it was the right thing before I begin work," she added. Before getting into Bigg Boss, Juhi had lost 10 kgs and after going to the show she lost four kgs.

The TV actress added, "The feeling is yet to sink in. Forget about winning the show, I had never expected to be there till the finale. I felt as I was not the focal point of the show I may not last longer. I never picked up fights or anything of that sort. But I was not the silent player. I used to talk, laugh, cry, voice my opinion, stand up for the truth."

Juhi Parmar feels fights and controversies do not help any contestant in the long run. "If I had picked up fights then I wouldn't have won the show. I have hardly had any major brawl on the show. It takes you ahead in the show but it does not help you win. That is not the mantra," she said.

However, Juhi Parmar, who grabbed the winner's title, won Rs 1 crore prize money besides a trophy last night, leaving behind Akashdeep Saigal, Siddharth Bhardwaj and Mahek Chahal. But the actress has not yet thought of how she would spend the money, except that she would keep it for her kids.

Nihita Biswas out of Big Boss 5

Nihita Biswas, the Nepali wife of Charles Sobhraj, became the first contestant to be evicted from the Big Boss house yesterday.

At 22 years of age, she was the youngest contestant in the house and lost to model-VJ Pooja Mishra.

In her first week itself, Nihita had a querrel with fellow contestant Shraddha Sharma. Nihita told that the decision to evict her was unfair and biased.

"The eviction was very unfair. They gave out a hurried decision. I was not given an opportunity to prove myself. People never got to know the real Nihita. They couldn't understand me," she told.

Nihita shot to fame three years ago when she married Sobhraj in a Kathmandu prison claiming she had fallen in love with him.

Big Boss 5 House Details

The “Bigg Boss 5″ house is bright and better thanks to a riot of colours – green, fuschia, yellow, pink and more – and, due to its compact and transparent design, it is expected to spark riots among the 14 contestants participating in the Colors’ reality show.

The design by interior designer Shayam Bhatia is intentional, reveals Ashwini Yardi, programming head, Colors.

“We have made the house more compact this time around, so that people are more in each other’s face,” Yardi said reporters.

For 100 days, the contestants will be locked inside the 9,000 square feet house, which has been moved from the busy markets of Lonavala to the lush plains of Karjat. As many as fifty five cameras have been placed inside the house to have a look upon their activities all time.

The show, to be co-hosted by actors Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, will go on air Sunday. The official list of participants is yet to be suspensed. However, names like Nihita Biswas, the Nepali wife of alleged murderer Charles Sobhraj, actress Pooja Bedi, TV actress Parul Chauhan, and even international boxing champion Mike Tyson are expected to be on the show.

From the design of the house, one can think that the patience level of the contestants will be tested to the hilt. Since the house is smaller as compared to previous seasons of the show, it barely leaves space for any housemate for privacy.

The jail, where indisciplined contestants can be locked, makes a comeback this season, and the much-used kitchen sink has been placed in the garden area to cause more inconvenience and create problem between the participants.

The house also has a lot of glass, due to which one can view the entire expanse — from the entry of the house to the bedroom all in one go, including the outdoor and living section of the house.

The two separate bedrooms, in shades of green and fuchsia with a hint of white, brown and yellow, have no differentiation for the gender. Maintaining tradition since last year, there’s a special bedroom for the head-of-house called "captain", who will get some luxuries and special privileges.

The open kitchen is connected with a dining room that extends to the garden area, and the outdoor area has gained more prominence with the pool area, the activity area, the gymnasium and the kitchen sink being placed there.

The house has a common washroom, as well as a common bath for male and female participants.

The confession room, where the contestants get a chance to interact with the “Bigg Boss”, is done in shades of royal green.
