Abhishek’s Players gets a lukewarm opening at Box Office

Abhishek Bachchan starrer movie Players, which is the first Bollywood release of the year 2012, has received a lukewarm opening at the Box Office in India. The below average response of the movie has shocked the industry. According to trade experts, the film would earn Rs 5 to 6 crores at the collection centres on the first day.

Players, which is a multi-starrer movie, is a big budget movie and it was expected to debut with a huge collection at the Box Office. But the film has registered 20% to 30% occupancy in its opening and noon shows. Trade expert Taran Adarsh says that the opening response was as low as 15% at many screens.

However, Players is a remake of Hollywood classic Italian Job and it has got mixed reviews from film critics. Now, the makers of film, which had a huge amount of promotional activities, are hoping that the word of mouth to create magic at the Box Office. The movie is expected to have a big jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday.

First Look: Blood Money

Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri starrer Blood Money first look have been launched. The movie is directed by Vishal Mahadkar and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. It was previously called "Jannat 2", but after Mahesh Bhatt approached his followers on Twitter to provide suggestions for the film's title, the title was changed to "Blood Money."

Kareena Kapoor is magic - Imran Khan

Imran Khan has already accepted that Kareena Kapoor is his favourite actress. Working with her in romantic comedy “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu” has only strengthened his choice.

“She is like a light bulb. The second the director says ‘action’, this light comes up and you can’t take your eyes off her. She is magic,” Imran told on the sidelines of an event here.

Imran’s crackling chemistry with Kareena in the promos of “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu” is there for all to see. Actually, he was so much in awe of the 31-year-old stunner that he ended up taking almost 100 pictures of Kareena during the film shoot. Producer Karan Johar has suggested he exhibit the pictures soon.

Even when Imran was asked to choose the most stylish actress of B-Town, he was quick to respond, and said: “I think my vote goes to Kareena.”

Produced by Karan Johar, “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu” is directed by Shakun Batra and will release around Valentine’s Day next year.

Shahrukh Khan's movie "Ra One" turns a profit in three days

MUMBAI: Ra.One, Bollywood King Khan's expensive sci-fi flick, has changes in a profit just three days after release, the head of the production company told on Friday. 

Kishore Lulla, the CEO of Eros International, who produced the movie, said that Ra.One has broken all box office records for Diwali so far. "I am already into profit ," Lulla said. Shah Rukh Khan's riskiest and most expensive film so far opened on Diwali, Wednesday amidst much expectation about its box office numbers and how it will stack up against rival Salman Khan's Bodyguard, a huge hit when it was released a few months ago. 

Bodyguard collected Rs 21.5 crore in the first day, a record number. Lulla says that RA.One made a net collection of Rs 18.5 crore on the first day, and Rs 25 crore on the second day. Gross (excluding entertainment tax) two-day collections were Rs 67 crore. RA.One's first day collections led many to believe that the movie had underperformed expectations. 

Bollywood trade figures on Friday are also a shade lower than Lulla with many saying that first day collections were Rs 15.5 crore while the second day was Rs 22-23 crore. But Lulla poo-poohs such comments saying that the movie has set a new record for Diwali with first day collections of Rs 18.5 crore, much higher than Golmal 3, which netted Rs 8.5 crore.  

Lulla says that his firm will still end up with 53-55% share of the revenue after the multiplex operators and single-screen theatre owners take their share.  

Akshay Khanna injured while shooting

Akshaye Khanna got injured in Bhopal while shooting for his next 'Gaali Gaali Mein Shor Hai'.

Akshaye was in Bhopal for a twenty days shooting schedule and in one of the shoot he was suppose to be on a cycle rickshaw. He slipped and had a fall, the injury turned to be a serious one and he is advised for a strict bed rest to give relief to his back which got affected seriously.

Akshay injury has spoiled plans of director Rumi Jaffery who had planned a 50 day marathon but the unit was forced to come back to Mumbai due to Akshay injury. Producer of the movie is Nitin Manmohan.

Priyanka Chopra in "Race 2"

According to the latest news,hot and stunning Priyanka Chopra will star in Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Race 2’ which is going to be produced by Ramesh Tarauni. At first, Deepika Padukone was considered for the role but the actress did not sign it due to some unknown reason. Now the makers shifted their choice to Priyanka Chopra who has done some good actions in her previous films.

The source said, "The producers of the film have already spoken to Priyanka, who is sorting out her dates. After the success of Race, the writers of the film and Abbas-Mustan took their time before finalising the sequel. Abbas-Mustan were sure that they would only start the film, if they got the right script. Now, the makers are awaiting Priyanka to officially come on-board."

From the original Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor has been kept. In the sequel to 'Race 2’, we will get to see some new faces like John Abraham in negative role, Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka as the second lead actresses. ‘Race 2’ promises to be more action, more thrill and more twists and turns.

John to romance with Vidya in "Force 2"

After the recent hit of John Abraham's ‘Force’, director Vipul Shah has not only planned to make a sequel to the film but also decided to revive the on-screen romance of John Abraham and Vidya Balan. John and Vidya’s on screen chemistry was very much talked about in Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ way back in 2007 and now Vipul Shah wants to revive their romance in ‘Force 2’.

The source told, “Vipul wants the film to be bigger than ‘Force’ and so, he has finalised Vidya Balan to play the lead role. He has also decided to keep the film’s origional director Nishikant Kamath for the sequel.

Nishikant already had an idea, which he developed during the making of ‘Force.’ Since the original film has been the biggest opening of any John Abraham starrer, the filmmakers have decided to title it ‘Force 2.’”

In "Salam e Ishq", John and Vidya’s on-screen chemistry sparked so bright that it became a big concern for John’s ex-flame Bipasha Basu then and she warned John to cut all ties from Vidya.

When contacted, Vipul said, “Yes, we are extremely happy with the success of ‘Force’ at the Box Office. I am keen to start the sequel with John as soon as possible. The story is a completely new adventure, with a new villain, who John will have to go head-to-head with.”

Kayoze (Boman Irani Son) to debut in KJo's Student Of The Year

Boman Irani's son Kayoze will be making his debut in Karan Johar's directorial venture Student Of The Year. The campus flick already stars new faces like Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan (son of director David Dhawan) and Alia Bhatt who is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt.

At the ame moment, Kayoze has also worked as an AD in Dharma Productions' upcoming Imran-Kareena starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Shooting of Student Of The Year is at the moment on in full swing and Karan just tweeted, "Just wrapped up the second schedule of "Student of the year"....miles to go still but enjoying every baby step..."

Tanu Weds Manu Sequel again with Madhvan and Kangna..

It is familiar 'Tanu Weds Manu', a romantic comedy that released previous year is expected to see a sequel, but now the latest buzz from B-Town is that the sequel will roll again with Madhavan and Kangna Ranaut on-board!!!

However the makers have reportedly expressed that the sequel rights are with the production banner, it has now come to light that the director and writer have retained the sequel and prequel rights to this hit film and after finishing a sequel, they are also planning on a prequel to the original 'Tanu Weds Manu' as well!

Although many names including pan India actress known for chirpy roles, Genelia D' Souza, was considered for this role, the director Anand and writer Himanshu wish to retain their original hit's cast for this sequel. This 'Tanu Weds Manu' sequel will portray the married couple settled abroad and the differences they face and how they overcome it. It will portray Maddy aka Madhavan as a calm devoted husband and Kangna as absoloute the opposite.

Well whatever it maybe, lets just hope the original hit funmaza is repeated again!

Karisma Kapoor to play Hema Malini's role in Satte Pe Satta Sequel

Sanjay Dutt, whose first production Rascals is due for release next week, is all set to go on floor with his 2nd production which is the remake of 1982's Satte Pe Satta, in December. Satte Pe Satta will be directed by Soham Shah, who has made Kaal and Luck,earlier.

Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the dual roles of Ravi and Babu which were played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original and Karisma Kapoor, who is making her Bollywood comeback with Vikram Bhatt's project Dangerous Ishq, will be actress opposite him.

Kajol was the original choice for the role played by Hema Malini in the original but since she just delivered a baby, Sanjay didn't want to pressurize her to return to the studio. Sanjay then approached his Lagey Raho Munnabhai co-star Vidya Balan for the role but she was busy with her other schedules. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also offered step into the shoes of Hema Malini, but she got pregnant. There were also talks of Madhuri Dixit being approached for the same role but at last they decided on casting Karisma Kapoor as she is a fantastic actress and suits the role perfectly. Sanjay Dutt is also planning to request Amitabh Bachchan to introduce the characters in the sequel.

Muna Bhai Chalei Amerika

Good news for all Munnabhai films fans. Our dear Munnabhai is coming back for the third time and its Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in their most loved roles as Munna and circuit.

Putting all the speculations to rest, our highly reliable sources confirm that the third installment is going to be with Sanjay and Arshad but there's a twist in the story.

Raju Hirani will give equal opportunity for his assistance Raju Mapuskar to join as his co-director. The movie will most probably be called 'Munnabhai Chale Amerika' and will have a facelift keeping the basic elements intact.

Writer Abhijat Joshi and Raju Hirani had given a broader and bigger canvas for Munnabhai 3rd installment and it was unanimously decided by Hirani and Abhijat to have Raju Mapaskar as the co-director.

'Munnabhai Chale Amerika' is likely to hit screens by early 2013.

Ranbir and Imran in "Andaz Apna Apna" Sequel

Finally the wait is ended and the Bollywood recent enemies changed into friends, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan will be seen together for the classic comedy 'Andaz Apna Apna' sequel.

The 1994 comedy directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi starred B-town best Khans, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.
The 2011 version will also be directed by Santoshi and it will be titled 'Pasand Apni Apni'. Few meetings have already been held some more is expected in near future between them regarding their roles.
Those who have seen Andaz Apna Apna will agree that Aamir enjoyed more footage thann Salman in the movie back in 1994 and Santoshi is planning to give Aamir's role to Ranbir Kapoor. Imran is okay with it as he does not want to step in his mamu jan Aamir's shoes and get unnecessary comparisons but he is demanding equal footage for both in the sequel.
The roles for Actresses are not being thought at this stage as the nod of both the heartthrobs of bollywood Ranbir and Imran is still to come...

Agneepath Official Trailer

Remake of the 1990s Bollywood Blockbuster Movie ‘Agneepath’ starring Amitabh Bachchan is now ready. The remake of the movie is directed by Karan Johar‘s earlier assistant Karan Malhotra. Bollywood Actor Hrithik Roshan plays the role which was originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. Priyanka Chopra will be the female lead, while the character played by Mithun Chakraborty has been totally done away with in the remake. Sanjay Dutt takes on the mantle of the character Kancha Cheena played by Danny Denzongpa in the original 1990 film and Rishi Kapoor will play another negative role in he movie. Hrithik’s mother role will be played by Zarina Wahab . The movie has been shot in parts of United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India and Dubai.

‘Agneepath’ remake is all set to release on Jan, 2012.
